Name: | Lola Moretti |
---|---|
Birthdate: | Dec 15 |
Location: | Boston, Massachusetts, United States |
Name: Lola Carmilla Moretti
Date of Birth: December 15, 1988
Physical Description: 5'7", 135 pounds, wavy blonde hair that she straightens, upturned nose, grey-blue eyes.
Hometown: Boston, MA
Lola Moretti is 27 years old and nothing is going as planned in her life - not that she ever had a real, concrete plan, but she did expect it to be better than this. She can't find a steady job outside of occasionally schilling at her cousins' shoddy psychic storefront and she lives in a tiny apartment above an Italian restaurant in Boston's Little Italy. She is the middle child between two far more successful brothers, Brian and Todd, and the only one to take after her mother's fair hair and complexion. Generally of a friendly, pleasant demeanor, but has a bad temper when roused to ire and a tendency to hold grudges and pout, as well as an occasional childish streak.
Lola comes from a long line of what her family terms 'seers', and she is not happy about it; though she doesn't completely share the powerful gift that comes down through her mother's line, she can hear the voices of disembodied spirits - both ghosts and demonic/metaphysic creatures that were never human - and can communicate with them. She also has the ability to go into a meditative state and open her mind to a secondary plane, where she can call out lost spirits and hear those who would answer. She has very little by way of visual spectral perception, though she will occasionally see a blurry flicker, and can be sent mental images by more powerful spirits. She is generally against abusing this power for her gain (it makes her feel scummy), but often has to host a few seances to make rent every month.
Lola enjoys soap operas, leather jackets, and gaudy manicures. She listens to alt-rock and sings along, but could not carry a tune in a bucket; she will watch any film starring Brad Pitt. Lola is afraid of large dogs, driving in bad weather, and the idea that she may one day open herself up to the ether and not be able to escape it. If left to her own devices, she could eat her weight in mozzarella sticks and Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Lola is friendly with the family that owns the restaurant below her apartment, though she often finds herself dodging their attempts to set her up with one of their young male relatives; they allow her to eat there for free, which cuts a good deal out of her grocery bill and makes them the ideal neighbors, even if her apartment always smells a little bit like garlic and oregano.
She drives a never-ending series of broken down beater cars. The most recent is a 1994 Chevy Cavalier, faded navy blue with inexplicably maroon doors.
